With a live counterweight system we were able to create an impactful spectacle, with 10meter swings down the red carpet and spiraling into the heights of the TSB Bank arena. The apparatus is our own custom design and build with embedded EL-wire which creates orbs of light as it spins, and illuminates and silhouettes the aerialists body.
This was such a epic night for the ‘Wellington Sportsperson of the Year Awards.’ Our brief was to create both a tangible and physical spectacle for this audience of athletes, and to transform the energy in the room, adding tension before the final set of awards. We presented our original Glow Lyra piece in the center of the room. Dimming the lights in the venue, to bring focus to this moment.
