We set this installation in the 1940’s, this was around the time of the first documented UFO sightings and abduction reports. In the studio, we crafted the physical elements working with an aerialist and dancer collaboratively to combine the expressions, spending considerable time devising intention and the gravity illusion.
‘Alien Abduction’ was an epic melding of elements, a melting pot of industries and creatives turned this large scale installation into a reality. It was a joy to be the conduit for this incredible technical team.
‘Alien Abduction’ was performed perpetually during festival hours, with alternating performers during HighLight Festival.
The audience gathers to observe this pedestrian. Waiting patiently on the street bench reading their paper, occasionally checking their watch. A beam of light snaps onto them, and they are slowly beamed up into the sky, an ethereal aerial dance as they are beckoned to the vessel.
